【摘要】:Thisguidesetsforthminimumstandardrequirementsforuseinbuildingcodesandordinancesrelatingtoself-closingandself-latchingsingleleafaccess,general-purposegates.Thisguidedoesnotapplytodoubleleafordoubledriveaccessgates.Thisguidedoesnothavetheeffectoflaw,norisitintendedtosupersedeAmericanswithDisabilitiesAct(ADA)guidelines,localcodesorordinancesofamorerestrictivenature.1.1Thisguideestablishestherecommendedminimumrequirementsforthedesign,constructionandperformanceofself-closingandself-latchingsingleleaf,general-purposeaccessgates.Itisintendedtoprovideanaddeddegreeofreliabilityintheperformanceoftheself-closingandself-latchingdevicesmountedtothesegates.1.2Thisguideshouldbereferencedwheneveranyotherstandardrequiresasingleleafaccessgatetobeself-closingandself-latching,withtheexceptionofstandardsforpooloroutdoorchildsafetygates.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Afterinstallationandinspection,itistheresponsibilityofthehomeownerorpropertymanagertoinspectandadjustthehardware,orthegate,orboth,tocompensateforgroundmovementandotherfactorssothatthegatecontinuestoeffectivelyself-closeandself-latch.
