【摘要】:Thedeterminationof129Iisnottypicallyrequestedinnuclearfuelspecificationshoweveritiscommonlyrequestedfordisposalofthespentfuel,orfordisposalofexcessuraniumfromnationalweaponcomplexes.Thispracticecanprovideresultsofsufficientqualityforwastedisposalrepositories.1.1Thismethodcoversthedeterminationofiodine-129(129I)inuraniumoxidebygamma-rayspectrometry.Themethodcouldalsobeapplicabletothedeterminationof129Iinaqueousmatrices.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
